     Surprisingly, using a dishwasher is sometimes better for the environment then hand washing dishes. Again, I said only sometimes. To make it better then hand washing dishes you should:

• buy an energy-efficient model
• use it only when it's full of dishes
  
• use a low temperature water with no heated-dry so you can air -dry your dishes.                                                                                           Also use eco-friendly dishwashing tablets/powder and you don't need to pre-rinse anything unless they have dried on our burnt on food.
