When you need to buy things, like clothing or furniture, consider going to a second hand store or a yard sale to buy them. Not only does it save materials but it also saves packaging and pollution from the transportation of the item having to replace the one thrown away. If you have items that you don't need, instead of throwing them away, donate or them to your local second hand store, or sell them in your very own yard sale.
