According to Sierra Magazine a gas stove is better than an electric stove in total energy consumption but pollutes the air and is run on power source that is a threat to public health, water quality, and climate change. A third option would be an induction stove which uses less power than an electric stove but usually costs more and only uses pans made out of magnetic metal like steel or iron.
